Checkin' in...

I can't believe it's March! We are having so much fun being outside and enjoying this early spring. The downside to having such a mild winter is that we (Pumpkin Ruby Smith and our house) have fleas. Pumpkin mainly but I have had one jump on me so I am having the house sprayed this week along with the outside. I'm itching just thinking about it. Ohhh....Pumpkin.

Target is one of my favorite places. We can go browse the clothes, toys and get a few groceries too! Paisley is usually happy in the buggy as long as she has a 'nack!
I wish those yogurt melts came in a bigger pack. She would eat the whole thing in one sitting if I let her.

This is at Longhorn yesterday for lunch. She will eat fairly well as long as she can dip her food in something. Of course she rips a bib off as soon as I put it on so she wore honey mustard on her shirt the rest of the day.

Happy Monday!! We are headed out to go buy some more flea medicine!!

Hello Again...

February has not been the best month for our little Paisley! Once she finally got better from having Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, we found out her Pneumonia was back. She is MUCH better now and we are going to follow up with another chest x-ray and blood work to make sure it is gone for good this time!

We went to our farm last weekend and had fun riding around in our buggy and looking for arrowheads after all of the rain we have had. We didn't find any this time though!

This is Paisley showing me that "Deee" (Dozier) is on her dress. When we go outside to see Dozier, she loves to tell him to STAY! Another favorite saying is not nice!

Here's little monkey having some mac and cheese....one of the few things I can get her to eat. Sometimes she will eat a good meal and other days she turns her nose up to her favorite foods, it really just depends on her mood.

Paisley turned 18 months on the 18th of February. I can't believe it. She's really getting to be alot of fun. Some things are getting easier because she can talk a little bit and can understand pretty much everything we say but she is also becomming more and more independent and wants to do things herself (like fastening buckles) and she has been majorly testing her boundaries. She has never had to go to time out at school nor has she ever been mean to a friend at school. At home is a different story. She actually had her first trip to time out at home yesterday for hitting Pumpkin twice and then head butting her was strike 3.

Sleeping has become more of a problem again lately. Sometimes she will not go to bed once I put her in her crib and she stands up and throws all of her paci's across the room...and then I go in and she says, "hiii" like she is wide awake...shes so silly! So bedtime has become an anxiety once again in our house but she's usually down for the count by 9 at the latest. Paisley also ocassionaly will not take an afternoon nap. If she's not asleep by 2:30 or 3 I will just keep her up and put her to bed around 6:30. I have to deal with a bad mood for the afternoon but get a relaxing evening in return :)

For Valentine's Day we got Paisley a potty. She has been telling us when she goes in her diaper so we wanted to go ahead and get the potty just so she could get used to it. I think it was just because I caught her at just the right time but she used the potty for the first time last week- #1 and #2...Troy and I were shocked and trying so hard not to laugh while she was doing her thing. I was SO proud. It's so funny the things mommies get excited about!

Hi.

My poor, sweet baby girl has been so, so sick this week. It has been so hard. About half of the kids in her class came down with Hand, Foot and Mouth disease-isn't that such a terrible name? Paisley was not able to avoid the illness. She drooled for about 3 days because it just hurt too bad to swallow. All day and night on Monday and Tuesday and whined and cried...non stop. Nothing I could do would make her better. It broke my heart. Yesterday was a little better and then last night she slept ALL night!

Hopefully she will be all better and back at school next week!

Cheerios!

We have been getting better with self feeding around here. Well, besides last night when she dumped the entire bowl in her lap and said, uh oh! She is very independent and loves to do it herself!

Sticker Fun!

I caught a yucky cold on Friday so we spent the weekend laying low...

Practicing our kisses! She says "Muah" everytime :)

Being Silly!!

Paisley has a "smile" she gives when we ask her to smile...she's so silly!!

Sick

On Christmas Eve Paisley had a little bit of a cough. It was worse on Christmas Day and she had a runny nose but acted like she felt fine. We were going to go to the farm that Monday but decided to stay home a few more days to make sure she was 100% well. On Wednesday we headed north. P took a short nap in the truck and we had a great afternoon playing on our swingset and just having fun. All of the sudden around 3:30 she just started hysterically crying. We couldnt figure it out! I finally got her to fall asleep in my arms and take a second nap-and both of those things are not normal for her to do. She woke up about an hour later and started crying really bad again. Nothing we did would make her stop crying. Thankfully my Dad and brother were up at the farm too and they helped Troy and I figure out what to do. I ended up calling Urgent Care and talking to a nurse and we ended up heading that way.

Paisley continued to scream like she was in pain...the worst crying I have ever heard. I thought (and was hoping) it was just an ear infection but I just didnt know what to think....she had never acted like that and I was so worried.

We arrived at Urgent Care around 6:30 and they treated us like gold. They were SO sweet to Paisley, got us right in. After a quick exam, the Dr. said it wasn't an ear infection and ordered a chest x-ray and blood work. I was so scared! Thankfully all we had to do was walk across the hall and have our x ray and lab work done and we had no wait!

We quickly got the results back and bless her heart, she had pneumonia! Poor little monkey. A nurse gave her some motrin and a shot of rocephin and sent us back out in the waiting room to wait and be sure she didnt have a reaction to the antibiotic.

By the time the nurse came to give us our papers to leave, Paisley was running all over the waiting room! I didnt care, I was just so glad she was feeling better! What a scare!

Here is Paisley during her second nap...she looks pitiful :(

Starting to feel a little better...

And now she was really feeling better! We left the farm in such a hurry that we forgot her shoes!
